We have an exciting opportunity within our brand new not-for-profit Children’s Services Residential Homes. These services are need-led children’s LD residential homes, and we are now looking for a Registered Manager to lead and develop our dual-site provision across Wimborne and Merley, setting the stage for a truly impactful service. The successful applicant will lead, manage and support teams of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers across both homes, while acting as a corporate parent to the children we care for, helping, supporting and ensuring they thrive in their day-to-day lives.
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of two children’s residential homes located in Wimborne and Merley, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities (LD) and other additional complex needs.
As an experienced manager you will confidently lead and support dedicated teams across both homes, fostering safe, positive, and inclusive environments where children and staff can thrive. You will play a key role in establishing and developing these new services, ensuring high-quality care delivery while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and embed best practice across both homes from the outset, ensuring outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support.
What You Need to Be Successful in This Role
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and relevant legislation in children’s services.
- Experience in planning and implementing care plans and maintaining documentation to a high standard in line with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours.
- Experience leading Ofsted home inspections.
- Experience opening or developing new services is advantageous.
