Interim Deputy Manager

Job Introduction

Are you an experienced care home Deputy Manager who can hit the ground running?

We’re looking for an experienced Interim Deputy Manager to join The Chestnuts in Aylesbury, working alongside the home’s management team to provide additional leadership, stability and support.

This is very much a hands-on, non- linical role. We need someone confident and experienced who can ‘drop in’, quickly understand the service and team, and make a positive difference from day one.

We’re flexible on how we appoint and are open to either a fixed-term contract or a day-ate arrangement (inside IR35) for the right person.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with the Registered Manager and wider team, you’ll support the effective day-to-day running of the home, including:

  • Providing visible, hands-on leadership and support to the care team
  • Supporting, coaching and developing colleagues
  • Helping to maintain high standards of person-centred care
  • Completing audits and identifying areas for improvement
  • Supporting with safeguarding, risk management and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring records, care documentation and operational processes are maintained to a high standard
  • Working with residents, families and external professionals
  • Stepping in wherever needed and helping the management team drive improvements across the home

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally be an experienced Deputy Manager, Registered Manager or interim care home leader who is comfortable joining an established service and getting straight to work.

You’ll need:

  • Strong experience within a residential care home environment
  • Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Registered Manager or similar leadership role
  • A good working knowledge of CQC requirements and regulatory standards
  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care
  • Strong leadership skills and the confidence to positively influence a team
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to quickly assess priorities and make an immediate impact

This is not a clinical position and an NMC PIN is not required.
