Job Introduction
At Agincare, we’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading independent care providers, with over 90 services nationwide. Family-owned and founded on strong values, we’ve grown steadily for over 35 years, delivering high-quality care and support to thousands of people every day across home care, live-in care, extra care, and care homes.
We are now seeking an experienced and values-driven Quality Director to join our senior leadership team — a pivotal role at the heart of our commitment to safe, ethical, and consistently excellent care. Ideally based in South Central England — allows convenient travel connections to all of our services — you’ll lead quality, safety, and governance across our national network of services. Clinical experience or professional registration is highly desirable, particularly as we roll out specialist care models and strengthen our frameworks in areas like dementia, PBS, end-of-life, and clinical leadership.
The Role
As our Quality Director, you’ll lead the strategic delivery of Agincare’s quality, safety, and governance framework across our nationwide services. You’ll oversee audits, regulatory compliance, and quality clinics, advise the Executive Board, and act as Caldicott Guardian—championing the ethical use of service user data.
This is a high-impact leadership role at a time of strong organisational momentum. Since August 2024, 90% of inspected services have been rated ‘Good’, audit completion reached 94% in Q3 2025, and safeguarding incidents and complaints are down. Training compliance remains high at 93%.
You’ll help embed and build on this progress, guiding the rollout of our Quality Assurance and Improvement Framework (QAIF) and the upcoming launch of strategic care models in Dementia, PBS, End of Life, and Clinical Leadership. You will also lead a small experienced team covering all services across the group.
Key Responsibilities
The Quality Director will be the strategic lead for ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all Agincare services. You'll shape and deliver our internal audit and governance programmes, oversee CQC registration activities, and drive forward our ISO9001 quality management standards.
You'll lead on complex incident investigations, inquests, and safeguarding matters — ensuring organisational learning and regulatory compliance are always at the forefront. As Caldicott Guardian, you will champion ethical data use and ensure full alignment with GDPR and DSPT requirements.
Externally, you'll act as a senior liaison to commissioners, regulators, and health and care partners, strengthening Agincare’s reputation as a quality leader. You'll also spearhead survey and data-led improvement programmes, contribute to national research and quality networks, and guide the development of our specialist care frameworks — from dementia and end-of-life care to veterans support.
Finally, you’ll take ownership of executive-level reporting, providing insights and assurance to the board, and ensure clear succession planning and continuity across your function.
About you
- Clinical experience or professional registration is highly desirable (e.g. NMC, HCPC, SWE) and/or postgraduate qualification in governance or leadership.
- Senior-level leadership experience in health or social care quality, governance, or compliance.
- Excellent understanding of CQC/Ofsted regulation, safeguarding, and clinical oversight.
- Proven track record with quality audits, CQC applications, and service improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and DSP Toolkit frameworks.
- Skilled in stakeholder collaboration and executive-level reporting.
- Familiarity with the Caldicott Guardian role and information governance practices.
