We have a brilliant opportunity for a Business Development Officer to join Training Now during a period of exciting growth. The role of Business Development Officer requires an empathetic, confident individual with a passion for business development through quality and growth. The right candidate will be highly motivated and able to achieve projected targets for growth and will be responsible for creating, developing and maintaining partnerships with suitable organisations, individuals and employers to support the promotion of Training Now and deliver increased sales.


The successful Business Development Officer will be responsible for

  • Complete full training needs analysis with partners and employers to offer a bespoke training package
  • Managing and contributing to the marketing strategy of Training Now services
  • Attend marketing and networking events nationally
  • Support the development and maintenance of marketing materials
  • Demonstrate activity against the Key Performance Measures each month in line with individual targets
  • Ensure all IAG sessions are individualised, take place in an appropriate location and embed Training Now’s policies on equality and diversity, prevent, safeguarding and data protection
  • Ensure potential employers are aware of the funding and grant opportunities that they are eligible for to support training
  • Ensure potential learners are aware of the range of training available locally and offer to signpost learners to partners where appropriate
  • Ensure potential learners are aware of the funding opportunities that they are eligible for to support training
  • Regular reporting as required by the business/line manager
  • Assist with the analysis and reporting of referral volumes and progression data to the Commercial Manager ensuring there is a continuous monitoring of trends in the learner journey and employer needs across the services Training Now delivers.
  • Supporting Training Now’s continuous quality improvement cycle ensuring attendance at observations as part of the OTLA strategy
  • Supporting a “right first time” culture of accurate and timely paperwork submission
  • Maintaining & updating Training Now social media accounts
  • Recruiting and placing apprentices as required by our employer customers

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience
  • Be highly motivated and able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills.
  • Have excellent communication, presentation and above all customer service skills.
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic, championing our company values.
  • Possess IT skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel and in web-based research.
  • Have an innovative approach to problem solving, and a flexible approach to working.
  • Possess the ability to take on new areas of work previously outside existing experience.
  • Display the ability to work under pressure to meet tight and often changing deadlines.


A full clean Driving Licence is essential together with access to a vehicle, as you will need to travel extensively for work
