Job Description

Do you have experience as an Activity Coordinator supporting older people in a care home setting or are you a carer who wants to develop your career in a different direction? Join our fantastic care team and help us ensure that people continue to take part in the things that matter to them. We are looking for an outstanding communicator who can find out what people want and organise activities for both groups and individuals. Do you have experience in arranging activities such as light exercise, arts and crafts, puzzles, knitting, sing along, outings, events and lots more.

You will be responsible for talking with residents as well as their families to find out what people want to do and to assist the care team in meeting people’s social and emotional needs as well as their physical ones. You will be someone who is able to plan and organise activity programmes for our residents in accordance with their assessed needs and wishes as recorded in their care plans. Some of our residents will have varying degrees of dementia and experience of supporting older people is essential.


Job Requirements


Overall your main objective will be to develop suitable programmes of activity to meet the needs of residents and to work closely with other staff to ensure that they achieve the best possible outcomes for residents and comply with the homes policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Have a passion for care
  • Have excellent communication skills, patience and creativity.
  • You will also have exceptional relationship building skills and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to motivate and engage people with good negotiation skills.
  • Understanding the types of activities older people enjoy.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use the internet


You must be able to demonstrate a passion for the care sector and have exceptional organisational and creativity skills.

5 days per week to include alternate weekends.
